5 Tips for Setting Goals and Living Mindfully in the New Year

Everyone knows the saying “beauty is only skin deep”, but we believe real, true beauty runs much deeper. Here at Epicuren we strive to embody total wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. After all, beautiful souls make the world go ‘round!

In the spirit of the new year, we have outlined five great ways to set (and achieve) your New Year’s goals and shape your true self!

 

Small Steady Steps

 

Many of us set grand, ambitious aspirations as the new year begins, only to become overwhelmed or even apathetic as time passes. If your goal seems daunting and out of reach, try setting small, attainable steps that move you forward. Seeing yourself accomplish even the smaller things will keep you motivated and driven!

 

 

Line of Sight

 

Keep your goal visible! Whether it’s a note or picture on your mirror, in your wallet, or at your desk, display a daily reminder of what you are working towards. Are you saving money for travel? Keep a picture of your must-visit locations. Working to start your own business? Post your business model at your work station. Anything that keeps you pushing!

 

 

Squad Goals

 

The company we keep can have a huge impact on our outlook and productivity. Surround yourself with those who bring positive energy to your life. From setting a fitness goal with a workout buddy to simply having someone supportive to talk through ideas or challenges with can spark a change for the better. Make time for the people in your life who are encouraging and want to help you succeed!

 

 

Find Your Vibe

 

Sometimes staying motivated and clear minded can be the hardest part of reaching your end game. Hold on to the activities that keep your fire burning. Personally, I need to stay creatively moved; whether that is writing every day, reading my favorite books, or researching new blog topics, I am happiest when my right brain is firing.

Having this outlet to center me helps me clear my mind and stay focused and motivated to improve all facets of myself daily.”

 

 

Reflect and Adjust

 

Take a step back and look at what you have accomplished and how far you have come, but most importantly, be kind to yourself. Learn to not only appreciate your successes, but to take failures in stride. Everyone falls, be sure to fall forward. Learn from setbacks and come back wiser, stronger, and better than ever!
